The middle rounds could be a good place to address this Jets need

While most look at offensive line help as the Jets’ biggest need, and a likely focus with their first-round pick, 10th overall, there are other needs, including at safety.

Jets safeties Jordan Whitehead, Ashtyn Davis and Chuck Clark are all free agents.

If the Jets want to target a safety in the third round, who are the options?

“You’ve got Javon Bullard from Georgia – good player,” said NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah. “We’ll see what happens with Jaden Hicks from Washington State. If he runs well, he will probably be gone by then. You also have Malik Mustapha from Wake Forest, Tykee Smith from Georgia. There are some interesting safeties. I don’t think it’s a great safety class. I don’t even think we have one — maybe (Tyler) Nubin goes in the top 50 from Minnesota in the second round. But man, we might not have a safety in the top 50 picks. It’s possible.”

So the middle rounds might be a good place to go safety shopping.
