This Miami-tough Jets CB went through a lot last year . . .

Morris County – As 19th-century philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once famously said, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”

And 2025 was certainly one of those years for Jets cornerback Jarvis Brownlee.

After dealing with an ankle injury early in the season in Tennessee, then getting traded to the Jets while still recovering, and landing on IR with the Jets in Week 12 due to a hip injury, last year was a tough one for the Miami native.

On top of a bunch of injuries and a relocation, he was also dealing with some personal issues.

Brownlee admitted on Thursday that last year was not an easy one for him.

“Mind all over the place,” Brownlee said. “Going through different things when it comes to football and my personal life, so man, it was a little tough on me.”

But after a challenging childhood growing up in a rough section of Miami, Brownlee feels what he went through last year wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle.

“Every day, you gotta keep going, keep moving forward,” Brownlee said. “So for me, [last year] was pretty tough, but I had been through a lot in my childhood, so I feel there is nothing I can’t get through.”

And Brownlee is helping the Jets get through some injuries at cornerback right now, and should provide them quality depth at a position where you often need reinforcements due to guys getting dinged.
