This old school approach is absolutely what they need now . . .

Aaron Glenn is old school.

We have no idea how Glenn will turn out as Jets coach, but we know one thing for sure: if it doesn’t work out, it won’t be because he was too soft.

Watching him prowl around the practice field in the spring practices open to the media, with his take-no-prisoners approach, this is just what this team needs. We haven’t seen this approach in Green-land in a minute.

This guy has alpha dog written all over him.

And Jets should benefit for this, in a league, in some quarters, that is perhaps trending in the other direction towards betas, in a society that might be trending in that direction to a degree as well.

Glenn is a throwback coach who holds people accountable. Whether it’s with the players, assistant coaches, or the media, Glenn doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He always tells it like it is.

If somebody screws up, he’s going to tell them, not worried how his brusk approach might sit with the PC police.

You are seeing fewer and fewer coaches with Glenn’s martinet style. This is going to give the Jets an edge over some teams with softer, new-wave coaches.

“He’s just a really good leader of men,” said Detroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone.
