Cortland – As many of you have heard by now, Jets rookie safety Calvin Pryor had a near pick in practice today.
While the Jets’ coaches would have preferred that he catch the ball, they had to love the speed, athleticism and instincts he displayed, breaking on this Michael Vick mid-range pass to the left side.
There is so much talk about Pryor’s hitting ability, it sometimes obscures his talents as a cover guy. He’s a terrific coverage safety, with very good range, and this play highlighted that.
