Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk has hired former Jets coach Robert Saleh as her new head coach.
And NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted after the news broke:
“Robert Saleh lands with a second chance at a head coaching job — this time with a QB,”
There is no question Saleh never really had an ideal QB situation with Gang Green, though it would have been interesting to see how the 2023 season would have turned out if Aaron Rodgers hadn’t gotten hurt in the opener.
But as far as the Titans, why is the insider so sure Saleh has a QB this time?
For most of his rookie year in 2025, Titans QB Cam Ward, looked like a reach going first overall, and the Titans finished 3-14.
Ward, like a lot of rookies, needs work on his fundamentals and must speed up his internal clock. He also has to work on not getting so many passes tipped at the line.
Look, he could turn out to be great, but he wasn’t this season.
So this idea that Saleh finally has a job with a quarterback seems a little premature.
We will see about that.
While Ward has a lot of talent and potential, he still has a lot to prove.
