This under radar player has been a Jets camp standout . . .

You might not know much about him because he’s not an anointed player, but one of the best players in Jets camp so far has been tight end Stone Smartt.

Smartt, who spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Los Angeles Chargers after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2022, the Sacramento native has displayed very consistent hands throughout Jets camp.

In Saturday’s practice, he hauled in two touchdown passes from QB Tyrod Taylor.

Smart, who ran a 4.62 forty when he came out of Old Dominion, has been getting very good separation from defenders throughout camp.

While he’s listed at 6-4, 226, he looks heavier than that now, perhaps in the 240s.

He was a QB most of his college career at Northern Arizona, Riverside City, and Old Dominion, before switching to receiver as a senior with the Monarchs.

When he signed with the Chargers, they moved him to tight end.

You don’t need to be a coach to see that this guy has been one of the top performers in Jets camp so far.

While he doesn’t receive a ton of reps, when he does, he takes full advantage of them.
