East Rutherford – The Jets’ 34-20 win over Washington was kind of like a college football game.
Let’s say like Mississippi State’s win over Louisiana Tech yesterday.
You know the scenario – an undermanned long-shot hangs around in the first half, and then the bottom drops out in the second half, when their lack of depth and talent rears it’s ugly head.
The Redskins entered this game with a lot of key talent out – both starting corners, their franchise left tackle, top receiver, center and standout rookie running back.
Washington somehow managed to stay competitive for a half, and then came apart at the seams in the second half.
The Jets did a nice job putting the petal to the metal after halftime following a first-half scare.
