1 Jets Drive is a classroom right now

Florham Park – I have no idea what Aaron Rodgers’ media stats were today, nor do I care.

Today’s Jets training camp practice was better for the offense than Monday’s, but far from perfect.

So Rodgers’ media stats today might not have been great, but context is needed.

A few times today, after a Rodgers incompletion, the 4-time NFL MVP went over to a receiver or tight end and explained that perhaps they were not in the exact spot he expected them to be, and they had a short skull session.

I’m not going to name names, because the point of this post isn’t to embarrass anybody, and they shouldn’t be embarrassed about that right now – it’s late July.

This is what training camp is for.

If these things happen when the games start in September, that is a problem, but this time of year is about developing chemistry, improving technique, learning the playbook, yada, yada.

Not stats.

You can blame Rodgers for some of these incompletions today when guys might not have been in the right spot, but that might be a little shortsighted.

And a little unfair. Not that Rodgers cares. He knows what camp is for.

Training camp practices are like dress rehearsals for Broadway shows. Do you review a show in dress rehearsal or when it opens?
