There is a very good chance the Jets are going to take an edge rusher with the second pick of the 2026 draft.
But the question is which one – Ohio State’s Arvell Reese, Texas Tech’s David Bailey, or Miami’s Rueben Bain.
NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently broke down these three guys and what they bring to the table.
“At the top, there is a big debate about these three guys with Arvell Reese and how you evaluate him,” Jeremiah said. “I like him on the edge. Obviously, he spent a lot of time off the ball at Ohio State, but a real dynamic player.
“David Bailey provides a little more certainty. You have seen him play out there. You’ve seen the production, I think it’s pretty easy to see how that translates, so that’s why there are going to be teams that have him as the top guy.
“And then Rueben Bain, it’s kind of an identity pick who plays so hard and physical. The dimensions are not going to be ideal in terms of the length. There is more that he brings than what shows up on the stat sheet. Just the overall physicality and toughness he plays with. I would say most people would have him as the third guy.
It’s probably going to be a choice between Reese and Bailey.
“It comes down to the potential of Arvell Reese vs. what you have already seen, and you know you’ve got an elite, elite fastball rusher with David Bailey,” Jeremiah said.
