Linebacker Josh Mauga has been one of the pleasant surprises of camp.
But the University of Nevada-product isn’t going to have a chance to take his strong practice performances to the field on Monday night. He has a concussion.
“The Terminator (John Conner) got him,” Rex Ryan said. “He gave [Mauga] a concussion on the goal line. It was a brutal shot. He had never had [a concussion] or been knocked out before. The way he (Conner)
hits, that is going to happen.
“It’s unfortunate for Josh because I was really excited to see him play. In fact, I was talking with the Monday Night crew, going over guys that I was really looking forward to playing and I was bragging
about Mauga.”
With Brashton Satele (ankle) also out, expect to see a lot of Kenwin Cummings, who has had a terrific camp as well.
