It’s not a move that will get a ton of fanfare, but it’s very important nonetheless, and that is the Jets re-signing of safety Chuck Clark.
That announcement of Clark’s signing was made by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Jets acquired Clark from Baltimore last off-season for a seventh-round pick, but then he suffered a torn ACL in OTAs, landing him on injured reserve.
Clark, who spent 2017-22 with the Ravens, including the final three as a full-time starter, is an alpha dog leader, who’s had a strong impact on the locker room anywhere he’s been.
Last season, even though he was out for the year, he was always around the Jets’ locker room lending support to his new teammates.
Clark is a pro’s pro, with a great work ethic, who’s a positive influence on teammates.
Spending six years in Baltimore, he came from a strong football culture and should help the Jets in that area.
This is an underrated re-signing.
