Foxboro – Jets players were asked after the game if they narrowed the gap with the Patriots.
Who cares?
What do you get for narrowing the gap – a participation trophy?
As Bill Parcells liked to say, “There are no medals for trying.”
As Bruce Springsteen sang, “It’s just winners and losers and don’t get caught on the wrong side of that line.”
You have to give Jets players credit for not buying into this meaningless narrative.
“There is no such thing as a moral victory,” Mo Wilkerson said, and walked away from his press briefing.
He’s exactly right.
