When the Green Bay Packers claimed Howard Green, it wasn’t for spying reasons.
They really need him.
Two of the top defensive linemen, Cullen Jenkins (Kris’ brother) and Ryan Pickett might not play on Sunday. Jenkins has a calf injury and Pickett is nursing an ankle problem. They already lost defensive lineman Justin Harrell for the season.
So the Packers might need Green to play a dozen snaps as the backup to starting nose tackle B.J. Raji (Washington Township, New Jersey).
