In the first quarter of the Jets loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday, Jets defensive end Mo Wilkerson blew by the Steelers left tackle, and had a chance to sack Ben Roethlisberger in the end zone.
But as Roethlisberger does so often, with his powerful frame, he ripped free of Wilkerson, and threw the ball away.
One New York-area sports columnist wrote that Wilkerson “whiffed” on Roethlisberger.
That is unfair.
He didn’t “whiff” at all
Roethlisberger does this all the time. He breaks tackle attempts on sacks, and keeps plays alive.
There is nobody better at it.
