It’s well-documented that on Tuesday, the Jets’ offense didn’t have its best practice.
“The defense had a really good day today, but there are days when the offense had good
days, too,” said Jets coach Aaron Glenn after practice.
Some would argue that the defense has had a lot more good days than the offense over the first couple of weeks of camp. What does Glenn have to say about that?
“I don’t have to say nothing,” Glenn said. “The only thing I can do is just coach. I mean, it’s always going to go up and down and back and forth. Those guys are jockeying for position every time they come out here. So, the statement of the defense is having their way, I mean they had a good day today, but I don’t think that’s every day.”
But some would argue it’s been most days.
“We have a damn good defense,” Glenn said.
Do they? We will see when the real games start.
The Jets’ defense was not great last year, and many of the same players are back, so did they become the ’85 Bears all of a sudden in the first couple of weeks of camp?
So this begs the question – Is the defense winning most days in practice a byproduct of a great defense or offensive ineffectiveness?
Is it the chicken or the egg?
