Woody might have been right in questioning this . . .

ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced on Friday: “Sources: The NFL informed all 32 teams today in a memo that it prevailed in its grievance vs. the NFLPA and its team report cards. An arbitrator determined that the NFLPA’s conduct violated the CBA and ordered it to stop making public any future report cards.”

The Jets got bad grades in a lot of areas in this anonymous 2025 poll of players done by the union. They ranked 29th overall.

Last March, at the NFL Owners’ Meeting in Florida, the Jets’ owner called the survey “totally bogus.”

When it came to some of the low grades related to the Jets’ training complex in Florham Park, the owner might be right.

The Jets training complex in Florham Park is impressive – state-of-the-art in many ways.

In fact, Boomer Esiason recently said that when his close friend Frank Reich toured the facilities, before taking the offensive coordinator job, he said Reich was very impressed with how nice the facilities are.

So when you see bad grades for food/dining, locker room, training room and weight room, you could argue that it is just an axe to grind against the owner, that has nothing to do with the facilities.

The grass practice fields are usually in great shape – beautifully taken care of by head groundskeeper Blake Hoerr and his staff.

These fields are so well-manicured in Florham Park that they likely prevent injuries. Over the years in the NFL, players have gotten hurt on bad practice fields; there is no doubt about.

So while Woody is kind of low-hanging fruit now with the team’s struggles, he’s right to question the low ranking the Jets got in some categories last year, especially related to facilities.
