The same problem keeps rearing its ugly head, and it doesn’t matter if the other teams have offensive line injuries.
The Jets gave up 127 yards rushing to a Cleveland Browns team on their backup left tackle, and their third-string right tackle, and with their star running back, Nick Chubb, on injured reserve.
This followed getting gashed by Miami without center Connor Williams and right guard Robert Hunt, and Washington without center Tyler Larsen and left tackle Charles Leno.
Why does this keep happening?
Simple, poor gap control, players too often getting engulfed by blockers, and some inconsistent tackling leading to leaky yards after contact.
A major mission for the Jets brass this off-season must be fixing their run defense, by perhaps tweaking their scheme and making some personnel adjustments.
