Ted Sundquist told ESPN that Woody Johnson told him the Tim Tebow trade was “forced” on the owner.
Did Johnson actually say that?
I don’t know, you’d have to ask Neil Glat, Johnson or Jed Hughes, who were in the room.
Or you can go with what Sundquist remembered hearing.
But the bottom line is that it’s now a national story.
So on Thursday, at the Idzik presser, Woody would be best-suited to take control of the story, take a page from Harry Truman, and say, “The buck stops with me.”
As an owner, it makes you look bad to imply to somebody that one of your underlings “forced” you to do something.
