NFL.com had a blog about Antonio Cromartie today.
“Although the recently discarded Antonio Cromartie is the last Ryan-style press cornerback left on the market, a league source tells the New York Post’s Brian Costello not to expect a reunion,” wrote Chris Wessling.
“‘They’re not being very aggressive,'” the source added.
“Shocking.”
I politely disagree with the use of the word “shocking.”
Cromartie was wildly inconsistent last year.
I also politely disagree with the premise that Cromartie is the “last Ryan-style press corner.”
Not really.
Cromartie has terrific balls skills, but isn’t great at bump-and-run, and sometimes drops back from the line, when he’s supposed to be jamming. He allows too many free releases.
