The Jets defense late in game hasn’t been great lately.
For instance, they gave up 20 points to the Houston Texans in the fourth quarter, blowing a 23-7 lead. They fell behind 24-23, before coming back to win.
“I’m concerned about how we’re playing mentally,” Rex Ryan said. “We have to look at it and see why we’re making these mistakes. This is the time where you tighten things up in that fourth quarter – where you know exactly what to do, what to expect and (how to) close out games. That’s the mark of a defense that I know we have here, that we’re going to have here. We have to look long and hard at it. We have to fix it, and we have to fix it in a hurry.”
Improving the pass rush would help fix it.
