Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan – Let’s just keep things real, and not get into hype and rampant speculation . . .
Bills DC Jim Schwartz has Mike Vick’s number.
He has a tremendous feel for how to stop Vick.
Remember in the first Jets-Bills game, Vick came in the game for Geno, did some good things when he caught Buffalo by surprise, but then after halftime, Schwartz adjusted and shut him down.
The Bills did a great job of sealing corner on defense, and not letting Vick scramble left, the direction he likes to go.
Jets offensive line matches up very poorly with the Bills’ front.
It’s a horrible matchup.
Kyle Wiliams gives Oday Aboushi fits. Just like he gave Brian Winters fits.
Mario Williams dominates Breno Giacomini.
It happened in the first matchup. It happened in the second matchup . . .
John Idzik thinks T.J. Barnes is a great find, and that doesn’t reflect well on the GM.
And he’s a heck of a kid.
But he belong on the practice squad.
He’s too heavy. He isn’t quick enough. This isn’t like when we used to play in the school yard, and the big kid dominated.
You can’t just be big in the NFL. NFL defensive linemen need to be big, along with being quick and athletic.
When the Jets had Barnes and Kenrick Ellis in the game at the same time – you just can’t do that. They are two massive guys that don’t move well. You can’t function that way in the NFL.
No, Barnes isn’t a great find, John. He’s not. He’s a practice squad player at best . . .
As much as it pains me to say it, because these are men with families, if Rex stays, he needs to make some major changes on his coaching staff.
And Ira has to let him spend whatever it takes to bring in the best of the best.
I think this is really hurting him.
He’s got to stop the cronyism . . .
People who claim that Rex is a goner are purely guessing.
You don’t know this owner.
You don’t know Ira.
Let’s see what happens.
They have some winnable games coming up. Tennessee and Minnesota aren’t good teams, and they both start rookie quarterbacks. I think the Jets are going to win both of those games.
Honestly, knowing Woody, I don’t think he’s decided anything . . .
When the Jets flex Jace Amaro out as a wide receiver, where is the advantage there?
He’s a 4.75 forty guy. He’s not a flexible athlete.
They act like they have Jimmy Graham or “Gronk.”
I’m not saying he’s a bad player, but he’s not what they think he is, and the Jets need to stop fooling himself.
Stop lining him as a wide receiver. It doesn’t work . . .
Mike Vick wasn’t pulled for his performance tonight. It was because he was getting the crap beat out of him.
“Coach told me I got knocked around a little bit and he just didn’t want me out there,” Vick said.
Now you are hearing from the fickle that Geno should start again.
Sell that to the locker room.
Did the Pittsburgh game happen?
Vick is much better than Geno, and they players and coaches want to win.
Vick had awful protection tonight, and didn’t play that well either.
But he gives them a much better chance to win than Geno . . .
