Darrelle Revis is now a free agent after getting released by Tampa Bay.
It’s time for a reality check for the star corner and his camp.
The NFL financial landscape has changed.
The days of the top corner getting $16 million a year are over.
The two top corners in free agency this year were Alterraun Verner and Aqib Talib.
Verner signed a four-year deal for $26.5 million with $14 million guaranteed.
Talib signed a 6-year deal for $57 million with $26 million guaranteed.
So the going rate for a top corner is in the $7-9 million a year range.
Revis needs to deal with that.
If he does, he will get a deal done quickly, somewhere.
