Since GM front-runner John Idzik is considered mainly a cap guru by some, this has led people to think this way –

That would be a huge mistake.
Ryan’s role in personnel needs to be lessened, not increased.
He’s way too emotional when it comes to player personnel.
And emotion and personnel decisions are a toxic mix.
But honestly, don’t make the assumption that hiring a guy like Idzik would lead to a great personnel role for Rex.
Woody Johnson said, on the record, that the new GM will have final say on player decisions.
