Mark Sanchez threw for just 166 yards and one touchdown against a Cincinnati team that had two starters missing from their secondary.
He needs to play a lot better if the Jets are going to beat the New England Patriots on Monday night.
“I just passed up easy completions,” Sanchez said about the Cincinnati game. “I didn’t make very good decisions when I got out on the perimeter. Those kinds of things, especially down the stretch against teams like New England, like Pittsburgh, Chicago (and) Miami, they’ll get you beat bad. We can’t afford to have that.”
What was the problem against the Bengals?
“I think it was just an off night,” Sanchez said. “The coaches talked about it being a short week, but it doesn’t matter. The good ones, the great ones, they don’t let that affect them. I’m still learning. I still have a long way to go, but I’m glad that I identified a lot of that, the problems with my play, and now it’s time to get better.”
