ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced today the Jets are making a QB change, going from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Geno Smith.
A couple of tangible positives come out of this move.
First off, Smith has a better arm, so this will expand the team’s route-tree.
Secondly, the QB dynamic will improve on the Jets’ sideline and in practice.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is a tremendous teammate and will have Geno Smith’s back. He will give Smith all the support he needs.
Smith didn’t seem to be a very supportive backup.
So now that the roles are reversed, it should be a better QB room dynamic for the Jets.
