Florham Park – Why are so many focused on just one Jets player’s frustration with the team sitting at 2-5?
“Garrett Wilson is already frustrated – again,” wrote ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“And that’s not good. One reason the Jets moved on from Aaron Rodgers after the 2024 season was concern over his relationship with Wilson,” wrote ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
How’d that work out?
This isn’t about Fowler and Graziano. They are national guys echoing what they hear on the ground in Florham Park: that Wilson is “frustrated.”
But, you know what, most guys in that locker room are frustrated, so why this constant myopic view of one player’s frustration?
You don’t think Armand Membou, Joe Tippmann, Braelon Allen, Demario Davis, Dane Belton, whoever, is just as frustrated as Wilson.
You got a locker room of frustrated players. Just because some don’t show it publicly, doesn’t mean they aren’t just as frustrated as Wilson. That is nonsense.
Somebody asked Aaron Glenn last week in a press conference: ” What has it been like for you coaching a guy like Garrett Wilson who is so competitive on Sundays and hates losing, and it’s pretty obvious?”
You got tons of guys in that locker room who are “so competitive” and “hate losing.”
Can we stop with the laser focus on one guy, represented by CAA, and his frustration, whether it’s about losing or targets?
It was like a wake in the Jets locker room at MetLife Stadium after the team’s loss to Miami, loaded with players pissed off and dismayed about being 2-5.
Wilson has plenty of company.
