Florham Park – Jets left guard Brian Winters will get his first career start on Monday against the Atlanta Falcons. He will replace Vladimir Ducasse in the starting lineup.
“It’s a good feeling,” Winters told Jets Confidential on Wednesday. “I feel I have been working hard. It’s a blessing.”
Winters was the Jets’ 2013 third round pick out of Kent State.
He played offensive tackle in college, but was drafted to play guard.
“He has a physical playing temperament,” said one talent evaluator. “He possesses the toughness, desire and explosion to make an immediate impact. He’s a low-risk, high-reward pick.”
