Darrelle Revis may never play for the Jets again.
The announcement was made by Yahoo’s Jason Cole.
“But more important than any of that is a simple fact: Either the Jets get this done or they never have Revis again,” wrote Cole on September 4.
Cole has a very strong relationship with Neil Schwartz and Jon Feinsod.
The Jets perhaps braced themselves for Revis being done with the team by trading for Antonio Cromartie and drafting Kyle Wilson.
“We feel really fortunate,” said Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum about being able to land Cromartie and Wilson. “I think some of it was by plan (and) I think, quite frankly, some of it was by luck. When we ran all our scenarios in the draft, we never had Kyle Wilson anywhere near where we took him. We feel really fortunate.”
While nobody wants to write this because it’s not a sexy angle, the Cromartie-Wilson cornerback combo has the potential to be darn good.
