Cortland – The Jets have moved second-year cornerback Donnie Fletcher to safety, and he really seems to be taking to the position nicely.
Today, he had an interception of QB Matt Simms, reading the quarterbacks eyes with aplomb.
Fletcher was a very good player at Boston College, but slipped out of the draft last year due to concerns about his speed, which was considered pedestrian for a cornerback.
But at safety, he’s more than fast enough, and based on camp so far, it looks like a good fit at his new position.
