Jets want cornerback Antonio Cromartie to be more physical at the line of scrimmage with wide receivers.
But after playing off the line quite a bit in San Diego, he needs to change his thinking on the field.
“He has some habits he needs to break,” said Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. “A lot of times he played off in San Diego.”
Ever since he arrived in New York this off-season via a trade, the Jets coaches have been working with him on playing press coverage, but he seemed to harken back to his old form against Baltimore.
“In games, you tend to revert back to what you know,” Pettine said.
