Amari Cooper was inactive with a heel injury, but the Jets pass defense still struggled, but once Elijah Moore got concussed at the end of the first half, that was too much for the Browns passing offense to overcome. With Cooper and Moore out, the Browns got little done through the air in the second half . . .
I never call for anybody to get fired. I don’t do that. But Jets’ offensive line is just too inconsistent. Keith Carter has got to figure out a way to fix this. Too many false starts.
Maybe the Jets can bring in former Green Bay O-Line coach James Campen after the season as assistant head coach to assist in fixing this. He’s currently the Carolina O-Line coach, and that stuff is probably getting fired by David Tepper . . .
Down 17 with about 13 minutes left, during a TV timeout, Robert Saleh was yelling at the officials over something.
Not sure the officials had much to do with the Jets’ dismal showing tonight.
He yells at the officials a lot during games, not just this one.
Maybe he should get on players like this sometimes.
It seems like whenever my photographer sends me a fiery shot of Saleh yelling, it’s at officials.
The officials aren’t the Jets problem.
It’s almost like a victim mentality – blaming others for your own mistakes . . .
Kevin Stefanski and Jim Schwartz won the coaching chess match tonight . . .
The Browns took advantage of the matchup for speedy tight end David Njoku on C.J, Mosley.
Mosley doesn’t run like he used to, and clearly isn’t a $17 million-a-year linebacker. They can promote him as the captain and introduce him last at home games during the player introductions like he’s Ray Lewis, but hype doesn’t make the film better.
There wouldn’t be anything wrong with giving Chazz Surratt, an instinctive linebacker with good speed, some time on defense, but perhaps the coaches don’t want to insult the captain . . .
The Jets had 12 penalties tonight, including one series where they had 12 men on the field and an illegal formation.
This kind of sloppy play isn’t a good reflection on your football culture.
If you don’t think the Jets football culture needs to be fixed, don’t listen to me, listen to Aaron Rodgers, who said that recently . . .
The Jets gave up 127 yards rushing to a team on their backup left tackle, their third-string right tackle, and with their star running back, Nick Chubb, on injured reserve.
Like I said before, I never talk about firing anybody, These are people with families and mortgages. This isn’t a board game.
But if I were the Jets, I would hire a veteran defensive coach, with a great reputation for his run fits, pay him good money, give him some fancy title, with his main job being run defense.
This is one of the worst run defenses I’ve ever covered . . .
Why Nathaniel Hackett won’t give Randall Cobb some action on offense makes no sense. He’s a crafty route-runner who knows how to get open.
Your telling me he can’t help a team this team whose offense th has become obsessed with throwing breakdowns to running backs?
Give me a break.
Show some darn vision and put him out there . . .
A lot of questions to Jets players after the game about Joe Flacco. Who gives a rat’s ass about Joe Flacco?
The Jets’ problems have nothing to do with not re-signing Joe Flacco, who by the way, did a lousy job mentoring Zach Wilson, which was one of the reasons the Jets signed him . . .
The Jets moved Michael Clemons inside last week to play defensive tackle which was the plan entering the season, but didn’t happen until the Washington game.
Well, this week, he was back at end, running right into the middle of offensive tackles again.
A lot of stuff going on right now doesn’t make a ton of sense.
