The Jets have a pretty good offense, with a solid offensive line and a slew of playmakers at wide receiver, tight end, and running back.
You saw that unit do some awfully impressive things in the team’s 38-33 loss to Las Vegas on Sunday, with 290 yards passing and 166 yards on the ground
While the Jets offense has been far from perfect, they certainly have done enough for the team to have a better record than 2-6.
But their defense has struggled so much in most games this year; it’s been too much for their loaded offense to overcome in some contests.
Something needs to be done, and it needs to be done now!
As the old saying goes, “You can’t keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result.”
Maybe it’s time to let somebody else call the defense, and let Aaron Glenn just coach the team.
Or maybe it’s time to bring in a defensive consultant, perhaps a sage older coach, sitting at home now, to infuse some new ideas to help fix a defense playing on a very low level.
Maybe give Bob Sutton a call.
The Jets’ top brass, Woody, Chris, Hymie, Ira, and Darren, need to do something, pronto.
They can’t sit idly by and allow the status quo on defense.
As Peter Drucker once said, “Leadership is defined by results.”
