No way to know how this is going to turn out . . .

Nobody knows.

Did the Jets do the right thing by moving on from Aaron Rodgers?

There is no way for us to know that right now.

Let’s see what the QB plan turns out to be for coach Aaron Glenn, GM Darren Mougey and executive Rick Spielman.

Yes, Spielman.

Glenn and Mougey should lean heavily on this former GM of the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings in this decision and many others. With all his experience making personnel decisions he needs to be involved.

On paper, it doesn’t look like an ideal move to go from a player who threw as many TDs as NFL MVP Josh Allen, and more than Patrick Mahomes this past season, to enter QB no man’s land.

But until we see how whatever plan they come up with plays out in the 2025-26 season it is perhaps unfair to destroy the decision-makers right now.

We will see. None of us are Nostradamus.

However, one thing we do know – this decision should be left up to Glenn, Mougey, and Spielman.

Too many football decisions by businessmen have hurt the Jets in the past. Everyone needs to stay in their respective wheelhouses.

But it will be fascinating to see how this turns out.

The proof will be in the pudding once the games start and the Jets should not be cut any slack.

They need to go out and break the 14-season playoff draught, no matter who is under center.

Cutting Rodgers can’t be used as a crutch, because nobody made them do it.

They made this bed, so now they have to sleep in it.

No excuses, no explanations.
