Florham Park – Former NFL Rick Spielman has been hired by the Jets as a consultant to help them find a new GM and head coach.
But at the same time, he will continue working as a CBS Sports NFL analyst.
Some would consider this a challenging combination of jobs – working with an NFL team and also analyzing the league at the same time.
During an appearance on CBS Sports on Tuesday, Spielman offered a disclaimer of sorts:
“Any opinion I give on a player, the draft, free agency is my opinion and is not affiliated at all with the New York Jets,” Spielman said. “I will never put myself or the New York Jets in a compromising position giving any type of detail or information on what is going with the consulting work I’m doing.”
