The Jets beat New England 17-3 in Foxboro to wrap up their season.
But they can’t let that impact ANY decisions moving forward.
They can’t let it cloud their judgment.
They have a lot to fix.
They have a lot to work on.
While it was nice for them to get a win, and break a 15-game losing streak against New England, the bottom line is they have now missed the playoffs 13 years in a row.
So just like games during the regular season with another one to follow, they need to use the “24-hour rule” you often hear from players and coaches. In other words, enjoy this for 24 hours, and then move on.
They gotta roll their collective sleeves up and get to work, add more players like Garrett Wilson (pictured above) and “fine-tune” their culture according to QB Aaron Rodgers.
“It’s about culture,” Rodgers told ESPN last month. “Culture can win championships, chemistry wins championships. So we obviously need to fine-tune a couple of things, tighten some things up.”
And when evaluating the state of the team, don’t let one game, with little at stake, in a snowstorm, against a beleaguered team, impact decision-making.
They need to make some significant changes to take the next step as a program sans rose-colored glasses.
