Jets undrafted rookie free agent Nathan Voorhiis continues to flash some juice as a pass rusher in training camp.
At Tuesday’s practice, we saw a couple of QB pressures from the Ball State product.
Well, these days, it’s usually not one school, so let’s put it correctly: the Ball State product via Bryant University and UConn.
Last year at Ball State, he amassed 12 sacks and 17 TFLs.
Voorhiis, who grew up about an hour from Jets camp in Stroudsburg, Pa, might be a little undersized at 6-2, 251, but makes up for it with a great motor.
He has displayed a knack in camp and in the team’s first preseason game against Tampa Bay of showing good bend to dip under offensive tackles. He has also displayed a nice variety of pass rush moves.
After dominating in the MAC Conference last year, not a league known for great offensive tackles, it was incumbent on Voorhiis to show he can be productive against a high level of tackle talent, and he’s done a decent job of that in camp.
While it might be hard for him to make the Jets’ regular roster coming out of camp, he certainly is making enough plays this summer to perhaps land a practice squad spot.
