Don’t get one thing about Morton/Marshall firings

Mobile, AL – The Jets parted ways with offensive line coach Steve Marshall.

This was after parting ways with offensive coordinator John Morton.

That is their right.

Look, unless you are in the meetings, or talking to Todd’s agent, it’s hard to know the minutia about what went down.

But one thing I don’t get:

There was all this talk about Morton not running the ball enough, and perhaps there is some merit to that.

However, the Jets just fired their offensive line coach, so clearly they didn’t think the run blocking was up to snuff (which it wasn’t in a number of games).

So if you wanted the offensive coordinator to run the ball more, yet the run blocking often wasn’t good enough, so you fire the offensive line coach, what gives?

Just asking.
