The Jets’ punt returning job is wide open.
The candidates include veteran Jeremy Ross and rookie Jalin Marshall.
Marshall, an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State, has the potential to be a special returner. He has loose hips and is very shifty in the open field. Marshall’s also thickly built which will aid in him breaking tackles.
However, he needs to show this summer he can catch the ball consistently.
In the Jets’ spring practices he was a little inconsistent fielding punts.
If he has a good summer catching the ball, he has a decent chance of landing the job.
