Guy to keep an eye on in Jets’ offensive line room Dan Leberfeld
Landover – The Jets have some injuries on their offensive line right now.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport announced on Wednesday that Brian Winters will miss the rest of the preseason with a groin issue.
Jets left tackle Kelvin Beachum is nursing a foot injury.
The Jets put backup offensive tackle Ben Ijalana on injured reserve this week with a shoulder injury.
So the Jets need some reinforcements.
One guy to keep an eye on is former Michigan Wolverine Ben Braden, who was on the Jets’ practice squad last year. He’s looked in camp so far; he can play guard or tackle.
He gets a lot of push in the running game. In Tuesday’s Jets practice against Washington, he had a play that caught my eye when he sealed the edge from his right tackle spot, and running back George Atkinson ran behind for a nice gain.
Braden has great size (6-6, 329) and has top-shelf toughness. He comes off the ball looking to punish defenders.
