Steelers’ standout defensive end Aaron Smith has missed the last 11 games with a torn muscle in his left arm.
However, there is a chance he’ll play on Sunday against the Jets, on a limited basis.
“A snap count is going to be part of that discussion … if he’s deemed well enough to go,” Steelers’ coach Mike Tomlin said. “The guys that have been given an opportunity to replace him, like Ziggy Hood, have more than met the standard. They deserve to continue to play, but it would be nice to add (Smith) to the tool box if we have an opportunity to do so.”
Smith is one of the top 3-4 ends in football.
