It’s pretty apparent how the Darrelle Revis trade rumors started.
In the meetings with GM candidates, Woody Johnson made it clear that the organization needed to figure out how to handle the Revis-situation moving forward.
The star cornerback has one-year left on his contract.
Does that mean Woody said he wanted to trade him? Absolutely not.
It means they have to come up with a plan, with a blockbuster trade being one of the options on the table.
Just like keeping him is an option on the table.
Woody did nothing wrong bringing this up in meetings with people vying to run his football operation.
Somebody turned that into – “Woody wants to trade Revis.”
That is ridiculous.
