Running back LaDainian Tomlinson will be back with the Jets in 2011. The announcement was made by M.A. Mehta.
“The Jets will retain [Tomlinson] for the 2011 season, the final year of his contract, according to league sources,” wrote Rich Cimini. “There had been mild speculation about Tomlinson, who turns 32 in June, but the team intends to go forward with a three-headed backfield — Tomlinson, Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight.”
To a large degree, the angle that Tomlinson was on thin ice, was a media created story. He had a solid season last year, and doesn’t make a fortune.
