Two bizarre 2019 decisions come back to bite Jets five years later . . .

The Jets lost to the Seattle Seahawks by five points on Sunday, 26-21.

Seahawks defensive end Leonard Williams had a 92-yard pick-six and blocked a PAT, contributing seven points to the Seahawks’ cause, not to mention his two sacks.

Seahawks kicker Jason Myers booted two field goals and two extra points, contributing eight points.

So these two former Jets accounted for 15 of the Seahawks’ 26 points.

And they should never have become former Jets, but are, thanks to two dubious 2019 personnel decisions.

It remains a mystery why former Jets GM Joe Douglas, traded Williams to the New York Giants on October 28, 2019, for third and fifth-round picks.

Why would you trade a player of this magnitude, who is not only great on the field but everything you want off the field?

A few months earlier in 2019, under a different GM, Mike Maccagnan, the Jets elected not to re-sign Myers, who was coming off a Pro Bowl season, making 33 of 36 field goals.

Two strange decisions that perhaps came back to bite the Jets on Sunday.
