The New York Jets have signed C Cody Wallace to the practice
squad and have released G Chad Rinehart from the practice squad. The
announcements were made by General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Wallace (C/6-4/300/Texas A&M/Cuero, TX) was released from the Detroit Lions
practice squad on October 3, 2010, after joining the team’s practice squad on
September 21, 2010. Wallace was a fourth-round draft choice of the San
Francisco 49ers (107th pick overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft. He played two games
in two seasons with San Francisco, both in 2009. Wallace was a two-time All-Big
12 first-team performer at Texas A&M and was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy
his senior season.
